Ernest “Butch” Lalonde was born in Cornwall in 1907. He played football with C.C.V.S., and Cornwall Cougars. He then went to the O.R.F.U. where he played with Camp Borden and Toronto Argos.

Ernest was a tough and rugged player, playing the entire 60 minutes. He was known as and called the “Little Iron Man”; he was also a great tackler.

Ernest also played hockey, basketball, baseball, and lacrosse; he was, in addition, an outstanding diver and swimmer.

Ernest still loves sports, and has always been a keen fisherman and wildlife man.
