Dr. John A. “Jack” Phillips, born in 1900, was one of Cornwall’s all-round athletes.
He excelled at golf and won many awards locally and throughout the country.
He was President of the local golf club and a devoted student of the game.
Jack was a star baseball player, football player, kicker and was also active in track and field meets with the Canadian Legion meets back in the 1930’s.
Jack was the tennis Champion for Ottawa & District for years.
He also played badminton.
