Robertson Allan

Allan Robertson
Sport: Track & Field
Year Inducted: 1980

Allan Robertson rose to stardom in the early 1950s as an outstanding all around athlete at CCVS. He starred equally in rugby, basketball, and track.

In rugby he played for two years with Queens Golden Gaels.

In track & field, Allan became one of the leaders for the CCVS track team, coached by Bob Rammies. Robertson was outstanding in several events (100, 220, and 440 yard dash; and the 110 hurdles), but it was in the hurdles that Allan developed the style and form which made him a dominant factor in these races during his high school years. Allan held the EOSSA record in hurdling for a number of years.

Robertson, along with fellow Hall of Famer, John Sloan were the shinning lights of the CCVS track teams of the early ’50s.

Allan was the youngst athlete to hold a Provincial track & field crown in Quebec when he won the 110 yard high hurdle, at the age of 16.
