Robert Bingley

Robert “Bob” Bingley, born in 1929, was a recognized and respected hockey player in Eastern Ontario in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s.
He was a member of the Cornwall Falcons who reached the quarter finals of the 1946-47 Allan Cup.
He also skated with the Barrie Flyers who were Memorial Cup finalists in 1947-49.
He toured Europe with the Hull Volants in 1949-50 returning home to play on several senior teams, including the Cornwall Calumets (1950-51) and Pembroke Lumber Kings (1951-53). He was voted the Best Defenseman on the All-Star team.
Bob also played for the Cornwall Colts from 1953 to 1955, and the Cornwall Chevies from 1955 to 1959.
He then joined the Washington Presidents in 1959-1960 in the Eastern Hockey League, and the Jersey Larks in 1960-61.
Bob died August 9, 2012.
