Alex Thompson, of Cornwall Island, born in 1885, was one of the great field lacrosse players.

He was a big, tall, strong athlete who wore the Cornwall lacrosse colours for over twenty years.

Alex was on Cornwall’s great lacrosse team that won the Eastern Canada Championship in 1912, and which went to the Pacific Coast.

He played point for years, and finished his career playing goal.

He was a good runner and a good stick handler. He played against the best of teams in his stay with Cornwall.
