Elzear (Ponzi) Contant

Elzear Contant, born in 1901, was better known as “Ponzi.”

During his hockey career, he was known as a good skater and puck carrier.

He was on one of Cornwall’s great junior teams in 1921. He also played with Cornwall Canadians and Street Railway teams.

He turned pro with the Boston Tigers for three seasons and then went to Buffalo.

He also played pro box lacrosse, baseball, and curling, plus he refereed and umpired for several seasons.
