Henry Larose, born in 1885, was one of Cornwall’s great promoters and sportsmen.
Henry organized the O.C.O.T. Boys’ Band in 1936-37, which comprised 45 players. He got them the instruments, and in two years he took them to the Ottawa Exhibition where they took 3rd prize out of 18 bands.
Henry loved children. He put on picnics at Cameron’s Point for years.
Henry also promoted boxing and softball teams, and for years was on a committee for hockey and lacrosse.
He served on the Athletic Commission until his death.
The band he organized led his funeral prosession.
