Edward (Eddie) Gordon Osler

Edward “Eddie” Gordon Osler was born in Cornwall November 6th, 1908. After a successful minor and junior career, Eddie joined the Cornwall Colts of the Ottawa Valley League.

He led his team to the Citizen’s Shield in the Years 1928 and 1929. Eddie’s contribution was recognized when he was selected to the All-Star team in each of the years from 1928 to 1931.

He was an exceptional lacrosse player, and in 1932, he turned professional with the Montreal Canadians in Box lacrosse. He later played for the Chicago Shamrocks and Oshawa.

Eddie’s athletic ability was not confined to just hockey and lacrosse as he was an outstanding football player and he excelled in tennis, golf, and swimming.

After his playing days were over Eddie became a Cornwall Police Officer and served the city for thirty years.

Eddie died on October 4th, 2002, at the age of 94.
