For a person to become a member of the Hall of Fame, his/her name must be brought to the attention of the Selection Committee for consideration. The following information outlines the rules that govern this process, as well as suggestions for submissions.
Areas of Nominations
A person may be nominated as a participant in a sport (athlete, coach, manager, organizer or any combination of these) or as a sports builder (developer or promoter).
Candidates must meet at least one of the two following requirements to be nominated for the Cornwall Sports Hall of Fame
- Candidate was born in Cornwall, or
- Candidate participated in sports in Cornwall for a minimum of five ( 5 ) years and was a resident of Cornwall during that time

Submissions should include the following items:
- A history of the person’s involvement including the years in which the person was involved, specific dates of achievements and levels of competitions such as local, district, provincial, Canadian and international
- Supporting documentation of the above such as newspaper clippings, awards received, championships and records set
Deadline For Submissions
Submissions must be delivered to the Chairman of the Selection Committee, as posted in other parts of the website, by the END OF FEBRUARY of EVERY EVEN YEAR (e.g., 2014, 2016).
