Amedee (Middie) Filion

Amédée Filion, born 1898, was known as “Middie” and was a star goal tender.
A standup goalie, very seldom going down on his knees, he was always very calm.
Middie played with the famous Rough Rider team in the old County league winning several Championships.
He played with the Canadian Cottons and the North Stars, and also with the Cornwall Colts when they won the Citizen’s Shield.
Middie also played baseball. He was acclaimed the most valuable player on his team in hockey.
He died in 1971.
