Wallace Wally Raymond “Chief” Garand, born 1927, was one of softball’s outstanding infielders, and was a colourful player in the North End league.
He was known for his driving efforts. He kept his players and fans on their toes.
Better known as “Chief”, he was a shifty ball player with a good throwing arm, and he was a very fast fielder as well as a good hitter.
Chief played lacrosse, and hockey, and is at present refereeing hockey.
He died June 25, 1994.
