Roy Kirkey, now residing in Hamilton, Ontario, was born on June 15th, 1911, in Cornwall, Ontario.
He started out on an athletic career that would have made him famous, until he injured his knee playing football.
Roy was outstanding in softball, baseball, lacrosse, and hockey.
Despite Roy’s injured knee, he kept on playing softball. He was an outstanding catcher and batter.
He played for the North End Ramblers in the Old City league, and the North End league. He also played goals for the Celtics in the senior lacrosse league, and other district teams.
Roy was a courageous athlete, and always gave the game his best, despite his knee injury.
