Gustave (Gus) Lebrun

Gustave “Gus” Lebrun was born in 1923. In 1940-41, he played for the Junior Flyers, Champions of City Junior Hockey League.
In 1941-42, he played for the Junior “B” Colts. In 1943, he played for the Industrial League and in ’44 for the Hull Volants where they won the Intermediate Citizen shield from Westport.
Between 1946-47, he played for the Cornwall Flyers who became the ODHA Senior Champions and the Allan Cup Quarter Finalists.
In 47-48, the Cornwall Falcons with Gus captured the St. Lawrence Crown. In 1949, he played in Europe. He also played for the Maxville Millionaires, the Cornwall Calumets, Cornwall Pontiacs and Colts.
In the 1960’s, Gus became an Ottawa District Hockey Association referee and later, along with Orval Tessier, Edgar Miron, and Eddie Emerton, founded the Cornwall Oldtimers.
Gus was on the executive for the Royals and was very devoted; eventually he and Paul Emard emerged as owners.
Gus married Dorothy Gaines and has four children.
Sadly, Gus passed away in 1982 at the age of 58.
