Leo St. Louis started boxing at the age of 10 at the St. Columban’s Boxing School. His coaches were his father Don and brother Joe.
Leo fought 10 fights in the Bantam division in 1945 and 1946, and won all of the fights. He moved up to the Light Weight division later in 1946.
He fought for the Eastern Ontario Golden Glove Group and won the title by defeating Armand Savoie from Griffin Town Boxing Club from Montreal. This bout took place at the Quebec Golden Gloves Tournament. A few years later, Armand Savoie fought Joe Brown for the Championship of the World.
Leo had many great accomplishments in his boxing career. Most of them occurred between 1946 and 1956. The highlight of his career was winning the Golden Gloves.
Leo worked for the City of Cornwall for 40 years. Now deceased, he left behind his wife Isabel, and his children, Michael, Raymond, Perry, Keath, Gail, and Cynthia.
