Arthur (Art) Murphy

Arthur “Art” Murphy was a strong courageous football player. He starred at St. Lawrence High School in 1957.
He played in the QRFU, and was voted the Most Valuable Player on his team in 1960. He was chosen 2nd in the league.
In 1961, he tried out with the Ottawa Rough Riders. He then played and coached Vankleek Hill in the Ottawa City League.
Art played four seasons with the Massena Warriors, and then for the London Lords in 1967.
In 1968, he broke his leg and this concluded his football playing career.
Art also played lacrosse and basketball. He then coached a lacrosse team in London, Ontario.
