Arthur “Art” Gagnon, born 1911, was one of Cornwall’s outstanding boxers.

He won the Golden Gloves Championship of Ontario in 1933. Art knocked out two fighters the same night to win the Championship.

He was considered the best amateur fighter in Ontario and fought in Kingston, Brockville, Ottawa, Montreal, and Cornwall.

Art also acted as coach and trainer at the Knights of Columbus, Moose Lodge, and the Canadian Legion.
